Australian Cattle Dogs
Our group of long term instructors who selflessly give their time to train all kinds of dogs (and handlers) has inspired Maureen to instruct at USDTC.
"Six years ago I rescued sister Australian Cattle Dogs separated by 500 miles, and reunited them. I started with obedience, and before I knew it, was nudged into AKC agility by USDTC!
I am certain I've learned more than my 'girls' when it comes to proper handling and the experience of 'trialing'! Jumping off an A- Frame, zoomies around the ring, to joy with a title- all add to the amazing adventure. Lots of effort, but even more rewards....a deep bond with my partner."

"I love being with my dogs and learning new behaviors. Performing is my favorite because I love to hear the response from the crowd. I love being able to give back.
By trying different dog classes, sometimes my dogs get confused. For example, when performing they might see a “friend” or a child and want to go “visit” with them instead of stay on the stage. They take their therapy work very seriously. I love that they want to make others smile. Also, my dogs are Florida dogs. They need shade and air conditioning to do their best. I learned that from them and I try to respect their wishes."
JoAnn volunteers because she learns so much from others when she teaches and wants to help the club as it has helped her.
