Join R.E.A.D.® at USDTC
Take Your Therapy Dog to the Next Level
Once you're a certified Therapy Dog team, you can begin training to become a R.E.A.D. team. Then you and your Therapy Dog can help children improve their reading skills in a nonjudgemental environment.
Join Our R.E.A.D. Team
Our Instructors will prepare you to pass the Intermountain Therapy Animals R.E.A.D. exam. Once you pass the exam, you can become an active part of Joyful Paws Therapy Dogs, an affiliate of the R.E.A.D. Program of Salt Lake City, Utah, and visit schools and libraries to read with children.
Help Children Improve Literacy
You and your Reading Education Assistant Dog will bring hope, joy, and comfort to Pinellas County children who may be struggling with their literacy skills.
Train
Our USDTC Therapy Dog Instructors can instruct you on how work with your certified Therapy Dog to help improve children's literacy skills.
Certify
Our R.E.A.D. Affiliate Organization, Joyful Paws Therapy Dogs, will mentor you all the way through your certification and beyond.
Volunteer
Few things are more gratifying that sharing your well-trained dog with those who will benefit most from their company.
